Fis fun at Beinn Eighe

Visitors and locals are being invited to Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve in Wester Ross on Thursday 26 July to celebrate Gaelic and nature.

Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) is hosting the fun-packed day which starts at 11am with a guided walk from renowned Gaelic writer Roddy Maclean. Roddy, who has a passion for nature and the outdoors, will discuss the rich connections tying the language and the land.

Locally sourced food will be on offer from a Scotland's Natural Larder barbecue providing local venison burgers made from sustainably managed venison from the reserve and snacky tastings of local sea food, cooked in the open air.

In the afternoon talented musicians from Fis Rois will perform an open air concert of traditional music from 2-4pm as part of their Ceilidh Trail across the Highlands. There will also be arts and crafts events and a treasure trail running throughout the day.

The event is free but it is recommended that anyone interested books a place on the guided walk as places are limited. Phone Beinn Eighe Visitor Centre on 01445 760258 between 10 am and 5pm for more details.
